Ball State Advances Undefeated in MAC Baseball Tournament
(AVON, OH) – Ball State’s baseball Cardinals used a two-out, two-run rally in the seventh inning —and a two-run home run in the eighth — to claim a 9-6 win over Akron around 1 a.m., today, in the Mid-American Conference tournament.
The Cards advance undefeated (2-0) to the MAC semifinals and will have today off before facing the winner of today’s 4:30 p.m. game between Akron and Toledo. Ball State will play its semifinal contest Saturday at 1 p.m. at All Pro Freight Stadium in Avon, Ohio.
Fifth-seeded Ball State beat Toledo Wednesday night, 3-to-2, before this morning’s win over Akron. The Cardinals are 32-and-23 on the season.
The MAC’s two top seeds, Central Michigan and Kent State were knocked out of the tournament by Toledo and Bowling Green, respectively.
