Police in Muncie have arrested a man in a fatal stabbing on Jackson Street this morning.  Officials at the Delaware County jail say 37-year-old Michael Joe Williamson has been booked into the facility under a preliminary charge of murder.

Earlier today, police identified the man who died as 38-year-old Billy Lipscomb.  Lipscomb did not live in the house on Jackson Street. Neighbors say the apartment belongs to Williamson, a guy Joshua Taylor calls “Big Mike.”  Taylor says Williamson would have had to be provoked to become violent.

Police say Williamson made the 911 call that brought emergency squads to the house on Jackson Street this morning.
