Notre Dame President Says Hoosiers Should Not Turn Away Syrian Refugees

By Network Indiana | Published on in Uncategorized

(SOUTH BEND) – University of Notre Dame President Rev. John Jenkins says Hoosiers shouldn’t let the threat of terrorism cause them to turn their backs on Syrian refugees. Jenkins issued a statement saying America should share “our bounty and protection” in the name of “Our Lady of Refuge.” Jenkins says with the nation celebrating Thanksgiving, it’s important not to “scapegoat all refugees.” He spoke in response to the recent attack in Paris and Governor Mike Pence’s move refusing admission to Syrians fleeing violence and unrest in their home country.
