Mayors calling on cities to combat global warming

Some Indiana mayors are calling on cities to take the lead in combating global warming. Eight mayors joined Purdue researchers at a “climate leadership summit” in Indianapolis to discuss the effects of climate change and how cities can counter it. Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard argues cities can accomplish almost as much as national policy — and maybe more, because there are fewer partisan battle lines.
