Gov. Holcomb asks lawmakers for $10 million toward airline incentives

A 10-million-dollar budget request from the Holcomb administration might mean more direct flights in and out of Indiana. Indianapolis has added direct flights to at least 10 cities in the last three years, including Los Angeles and San Francisco, in part by offering airlines incentives. Economic development officials say that’s made a significant difference in attracting venture capital — companies and investors quickly sour on Indiana if they have to catch a connecting flight to get here.
