Both Ball State basketball teams earned first-round byes in their respective Mid-American Conference tournaments in Cleveland, later this week.

James Whitford’s men’s basketball Cardinals are fourth-seeded and will play the winner of the Western Michigan-Miami game on Thursday.

Brady Sallee’s women’s team earned the number-two seed in their tournament, and will face the winner of the Bowling Green-Buffalo first-round game, on Wednesday.

Times for both quarter-final games have not been announced as of this writing.
