In sports, both Ball State basketball teams are in post-season tournaments, within the state, this week.

Brady Sallee’s women’s basketball Cardinals travel to Bloomington to take on the I-U Hoosiers in the first round of the WNIT. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., Thursday.  This is the fifth-straight year Ball State has won a bid to the WNIT.  Last year the Cards won at Iowa 77 to 72.  Ball State enters Thursday’s game with a 21-and-10 record; Indiana is 20-and-10.

Meanwhile, tonight (Wed.), James Whitford’s Ball State men’s basketball Cardinals begin play in the CIT.  The Cards take on Fort Wayne on the IPFW campus. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. at the Gates Sports Center.  The Cards are 21-and-12 on the season; Fort Wayne has 19 wins against 12 losses.
