Jazz Legends

Jazz returns to Indiana Public Radio with a salute to Jazz Legends on the fall broadcast of BlueNotes, Saturday, September 30 from 8-10pm. Join jazz host Larry Beck as he examines jazz artists who came of age in the 1950s and ’60s and who set the standards for modern American jazz. Featured musicians on the playlist include Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Thelonious Monk, June Christy, Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie, Marian McPartland, Clifford Brown, and many others. Iconic jazz tunes include Round Midnight, Goodbye Pork Pie Hat, and Maiden Voyage.
