It’s not every day that a freshman quarterback will start for the Ball State Cardinals against a Big 10 school like Northwestern. But then again, it’s not every day that a freshman quarterback gets such a reception from ESPN 3 play-by-play announcers…

For those in east central Indiana, Riley Neal may already be a familiar player. The 6 foot, 5 inch freshman hails from Yorktown.  And as IPR’s Michael Kuhn reports, Neal’s former Tiger teammates are excited about his first season at Ball State.
