The city of Anderson is moving forward with plans to build a new water treatment plant. The Herald Bulletin reports the Anderson Board of Public Works has set July 18 as the deadline to accept bids for construction of the nearly $8 million plant. The plant will be built at the current location of the Lafayette water treatment plant, which has been responsible for the purification of the city’s drinking water for nearly 50 years.
