Heavy Rain Overnight (Fri.) in Delaware and Randolph Counties

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis  issued a flood warning for northern Randolph County and Delaware County, overnight. At 2:41 a.m., doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain that dumped up to two inches of rain on parts of both counties.  As of 6 a.m., the National Weather Service monitoring station at the Muncie airport recorded 1.03 inches of rain between 2 and 6 a.m.

Today’s forecast calls for a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms.  The National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center says there is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms (2 on a scale of 5) for the IPR listening area, and most of the state, today and tonight.  Stay tuned to IPR for the latest severe weather information.
