BSU WBB, MBB Get Byes to MAC Tournament

Both Ball State basketball teams get first-round byes to advance to the quarter-final rounds of the MAC Tournament in Cleveland, this week.

Brady Sallee’s women’s Cardinals are the #3 seed and will play the winner of the Bowling Green-Western Michigan game on Wednesday. Coach Sallee became the program’s winningest coach with Saturday, at Eastern Michigan, 88 to 63. Sallee has 119 wins against 72 losses in his sixth year as head coach.  His win total surpasses the 118 wins tallied by Coach Tracy Roller, from 2001 to 2008.

James Whitford’s men’ Cardinals ended up as the fourth-seed in their MAC tournament, in spite of losing their last three games.  The Cards will face the winner of the Kent State-Northern Illinois game around 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

Both Wednesday’s and Thursday’s Ball State games will air live on ESPN-3.
