Kentucky and Michigan Have Outbreaks of Hepatitis A; Vaccinations For Visitors Encouraged

Indiana health officials are advising Hoosiers to get vaccinated for hepatitis A, especially if they plan to visit Kentucky or Michigan. The Department of Health says significant outbreaks of the highly contagious viral infection have been reported in the two states. Kentucky has seen more than 300 cases of hep A , most of those in the Louisville area. Michigan has had more than 800 cases, including 25 deaths.
