Federal assistance is officially being sought by Governor Holcomb for flooding victims from February and March. In a letter to President Trump, Holcomb said “damage across the state has been significant.” He’s requested a disaster declaration for nine Indiana counties for individual assistance and 27 counties for public assistance. At its worst, nearly three dozen counties declared local emergencies due to the flooding.
