A former Marsh supermarket on Tillotson Avenue has reopened as the second location of Pay Less in Muncie.  As IPR’s Zoe Dwiggins reports, representatives from owner Kroger welcomed shoppers this morning.

After a $5 million renovation, the store has many updates to the building itself and its technology.  Pay Less says it is more energy-efficient and user-friendly, with a new front entrance and layout.

Manager Mark Michael says there is something for everyone.

“We’ve got a lot to be proud of in this store from all of our associates and, also, our customers.”

Customers will see something else that is brand new to Muncie – ClickList.  ClickList is a way for shoppers to order the groceries online and pick them up from the store, instead of doing the shopping themselves.

In addition to upgrades to the new store, the celebration promoted partnerships Pay Less has with the community.  Muncie Mayor Dennis Tyler put out the welcome mat.

Kroger Pay Less is here today, and they’re a great partner.”

Pay Less donated a total of $22,000 to Muncie Mission, Salvation Army, Second Harvest, and Christian Ministries of Delaware County.
