New ads from the Indiana Secretary of State’s office seek to reassure Hoosiers about election security.

The campaign uses television, radio, and print ads to urge people to register to vote by the state’s October 9 deadline.

It emphasizes the power of the vote, what the ads call the “great equalizer.”

“And we can be certain in that power because the Indiana election system is the healthiest 200-year-old you’ll ever find,” the ad says. “Your vote is counted and your vote counts. For safe, secure, and reliable voter registration, go to Indianavoters.com.”

The Secretary of State’s office stresses none of Indiana’s voting machines are connected to the internet. And a Ball State University program tests all of the state’s election equipment.
