For the last 35 years, the names Jimmy Carter and Habitat for Humanity have gone hand in hand. So much in fact, every year, Former President Carter and Former First Lady Rosalynn  join hundreds of volunteers for a week-long building extravaganza known as the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Works Project to bring attention to affordable housing worldwide. Indiana Public Broadcasting’s Barb Anguiano sat down with the former president to discuss the 2018 Works Project in St. Joseph County, and his thoughts on affordable housing.

The 2018 Carter Works Project will officially close Friday (Aug. 31), in South Bend. An estimated 17 hundred volunteers helped build 28 houses in Mishawaka and remodel 17 homes in South Bend.
