Ball State Busses to Bloomington, Notre Dame Hosts Vanderbilt, and Purdue Welcomes Missouri in College Football

By Stan Sollars, IPR News | Published on in Sports

In sports, it’s another big Saturday of college football for the state’s big four.  Mike Neu’s Ball State football Cardinals bus down to Bloomington to take on Indiana at noon on the Big Ten Network.

The Cards are coming off an eight-point loss at Notre Dame, last Saturday, and take a 1-and-1 record to Memorial Stadium.  IU is 2-and-0 after squeaking by Virginia last week, 20 to 16.  Ball State wide receiver Riley Miller told Ball State Sports dot com that he expects both the Cards and the crowd to be into the game.  “I think we’re going to have a lot of fun. (Indiana) may not (have) the tradition of Notre Dame … but it’s still a Big Ten opponent, it’s still a “power five” opponent and so it’s going to be a great atmosphere.  I think we have to attack the game just as we did at Notre Dame.  We have to compete and we have to come ready to play.”

Ball State has won three of the last four contests with Indiana.  The last time the two squads faced each other was in 2016 when the Cards lost to the Hoosiers, in Bloomington, 30 to 20.  Indiana owns the all-time record in the series, 5-to-3.

Elsewhere, Saturday, Notre Dame hosts Vanderbilt for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff on NBC, with hopes to go 3-and-0.  And Purdue will try to get its first win of the season against two losses, when Missouri visits Ross-Ade Stadium for a 7:30 p.m. kickoff on the Big Ten Network.
