Curtis Hill ‘Pleased’ With Sexual Misconduct Accusations Investigation

Earlier this year, Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill was accused of groping four women at March end-of-legislative-session party.  Today in an interview on C-SPAN, Hill says he’s pleased with an investigation a special prosecutor for the Indiana Inspector General is undertaking.

“That process is underway, I’m very pleased about how the process has been undertaken,” Hill says. “We expect to have some determination at some point in time.”

Hill’s interview aired just before Christine Blasey Ford began testifying to the Senate Judiciary Committee about sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Hill says a prosecutor’s involvement is necessary in his case because public allegations spark a presumption of guilt.

“In this environment, as you know what we’re seeing in Washington, we’re fighting with the upside down world of guilty until proven innocent,” Hill says. “And the result of that for us here in Indiana is that we’re fighting that, and I think it’s important that we fight that.”

Both Hill and Kavanaugh deny the sexual misconduct allegations.

Hill has questioned his accusers’ credibility, threatened defamation lawsuits, and started a fund to raise money for his legal defense.

Governor Eric Holcomb, all four state legislative leaders, and many other state officials have called for Hill to resign.

It’s unclear how long the investigation into the allegations could take.
