Members of Indiana Task Force One are headed to the Florida Panhandle today (Thurs) to assist with storm relief efforts. The former Hurricane Michael made landfall Wednesday and is being  blamed for at least two deaths.  Spokesman Michael Pruitt, says the team is trained in water rescue.  “They spent a year training for this type of activity and that is going to be their primary mission.”

Pruitt some of the members recently returned from the Carolinas, where they assisted with Hurricane Florence recovery efforts.  “They understand that’s the commitment they have to make to this team. There is always that chance you have to turn around and go right back out again and I think they are always prepared to do that.”

The team had not received any specific mission as of yet.
