Wind Chill Warnings in Effect Over The Northern Two-Thirds of Indiana

A wind chill warning has been issued for Central Indiana, including Muncie, from 10 p.m. today to 1 p.m. Thursday.  North of Muncie a Wind Chill Warning will be in effect from 1  p.m. today until 2 p.m. Thursday. In fact, most of the Midwest is under wind chill watches or warnings. Wind chills in Indiana will be 20 to 40 below zero, says the National Weather Service in Indianapolis. Frostbite can occur in as little as 10 minutes. Experts say to be sure to limit your time outdoors and cover all exposed skin. Wind chills could get as low as 50-below in some areas of northern Indiana.  Severe wind chill temperatures have prompted the University of Notre Dame to close from 7 p.m. tonight (Tues.) to 1 p.m. Thursday.
