Winter Weather Advisory From 4 p.m. Today To 10 a.m. Thursday

Slick travel conditions are likely across the northern two-thirds of the state today, tonight, and Thursday.  The National Weather Service Forecast Office in Indianapolis says the IPR listening area could receive up to two-tenths of an inch of ice, along with sleet and snow.  A Winter Weather Advisory begins at 4 p.m. today, and extends to 10 a.m., tomorrow.  Authorities advise if you must travel, to do so slowly, and to take extra time scraping ice off of all of your vehicle’s windows.  Here is the latest IPR forecast:

Today: A 60% chance of snow and sleet and freezing rain. A high near 33. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY will be in effect from 4 p.m. today, until 10 a.m. Thursday.

Tonight:  A 100% chance of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Low around 28. Northeast wind gusts to 24 mph. Ice accumulation of 0.1 to 0.2 of an inch possible. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday: A 30% chance of snow, sleet, and freezing rain, changing to all snow after 10 a.m.  A high near 32.

Thursday Night: A 30% chance of snow. A low around 24.

Friday: A 20% chance of snow before 1 p.m.  A high near 32.
