The Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office is temporarily closing, because Prosecutor Eric Hoffman says several employees have tested positive for COVID-19.

In a press release, Hoffman says there is little risk of exposure to the public because of safety measures the county already has in place.  Office workers will be working from home on secure websites, even though they are considered essential personnel by the state of Indiana.

The prosecutor’s office is cancelling all currently scheduled depositions and appointments.  But Hoffman says because the office has been appearing in court virtually by video or phone, the office’s COVID-19 cases will not affect local judges’ abilities to hear criminal cases.
