Ball State’s positive COVID-19 case count last Thursday was 710. Numbers from yesterday – just four days later – have vaulted up to 888. Students comprise 873 of those cases; university employees account for 15. The totals include tests done through a Ball State-IU Health partnership and those self-reported from other testing sites.

The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) said Wednesday there were 15 new COVID-19 cases out of 433 tests for Delaware County. Just last Thursday, the county set a new, one-day, positive-count record of 104. The county’s cumulative case count is now 1,583, with one new death. The county’s death toll is now 58.

In Delaware County, 34.4 percent of positive tests came from the 20-to-29 age group.

The state of Indiana has crossed the 100,000-positive-case threshold. ISDH reports 596 new coronavirus cases were recorded on Monday, bringing the cumulative case count since the start of the pandemic to 100,394. Four new deaths were counted, raising the Indiana death toll to 3,144.
