Ball State University finished its fifth week of classes, and it appears students, faculty, and staff are in for the long haul, as opposed to an early bug out  to return home, unless the pandemic worsens.  BSU President Geoff Mearns joined IPR for its weekly Ball State pandemic update on Morning Edition, Friday (Sept. 25).  Audio of the broadcast is below.

Editor’s Note: President Mearns contacted IPR after the initial broadcast of the pandemic update and corrected the number of COVID-19 tests he said the university has the capacity to run, each week.  On the broadcast Friday morning, he said Ball State has the capacity to run approximately 4,000 tests a week.  He corrected his statement to report a capacity of 2,000 tests per week, that could be conducted on campus. Audio of today’s (Sept. 25) broadcast (above) has been edited to remove the error.
