Positive COVID-19 Cases Skyrocket in Indiana: 8,451 New Cases Reported Saturday

New, single-day, COVID-19 diagnoses blew away the 8,000-case mark, Saturday.  The Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) reported a record 8,451 new cases since the start of the pandemic.  Numbers have run wild since the state went to State 5 of its reopening plan, weeks ago.  25 new deaths were reported, as well.  Indiana’s pandemic death toll has climbed  to 4,638.  The state’s positivity rate is 10.9 percent.

ISDH reports Delaware County has 81 new positive COVID cases, and 1 new death, as of Saturday, with a positivity rate at 8.9 percent. The county’s coronavirus death toll stands at 95.

74 students and 13 employees at Ball State are estimated to have active COVID-19 cases.
