BSU President Mearns Talks About Pandemic Lessons Learned, and What He Would Tell His Successors About Navigating A Pandemic
Final exams begin next Tuesday and continue through Friday as the fall semester at Ball State, draws to a close. BSU President Geoff Mearns returned for another campus pandemic update, broadcast Friday morning.
He updated campus COVID-19 numbers, reflected on lessons learned about the pandemic by the university during the fall term, mentioned new study days for spring semester, and he shared what things he would tell his successors about how to guide the campus should another pandemic arrive. The Ball State president also outlined how the university is archiving meeting notes, action plans, and other documentation about how the school has navigated and is still traveling through the coronavirus pandemic. Mearns also told listeners about the new Brown Family Amphitheater, to be located in the center of campus, on the site of the former Emens parking garage.
