BSU Telecommunications Graduate Wins Oscar For Best Original Song

A Ball State University Department of Telecommunications (TCOM) alumna brought home an Oscar from the 93rd Academy Awards for best original song.

‘Fight For You’ from ‘Judas and the Black Messiah’ written by H.E.R, Dernst Emile II and TCOM alumna Tiara Thomas won the Oscar for Best Original Song at the Academy Awards in Hollywood.

Thomas also won Song of the Year, on March 14, at the 63rd Grammy Awards for “I Can’t Breathe,” a song she co-wrote with R&B singer-songwriter Gaby Wilson who performs as H.E.R.
