COVID-19 positivity rates continue to rise in Delaware County, in spite of statewide coronavirus numbers heading in the opposite direction, according to the Indiana Department of Health.   State health officials reported Wednesday 852 new COVID-19 cases statewide, with a 5.3 percent, seven-day positivity rate, and 10 new deaths.

Delaware County has an 8.6% seven-day positivity rate; up from Tuesday’s 8.2% rate.  14 new cases have been reported, with no new coronavirus deaths.   The county remains at a Yellow-Level 1.5 COVID-spread rating.  Just a few weeks ago the county was at a Blue-Level 0.5 rating, with case numbers dropping.  A Red-Level 3.0 rating is the worst.  No Indiana county has that rating, today, but two counties — Steuben and LaPorte along the Michigan border — are at an Orange-Level 2.5 rating.

Meanwhile, Madison and Grant counties have joined Delaware County with rising COVID spread numbers at a Yellow-Level 1.5 rating.  Jay County has risen to an Orange-Level 2.0 rating.
