COVID-19 Cases In Indiana Are Rapidly Increasing Again; Vaccinations Of Hoosiers 12+ Reach 50 Percent

By Stan Sollars, IPR News | Published on in Government, Health

Thursday the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) reported 878 new COVID-19 cases, one new COVID death, and a seven-day positivity rate of 5.4 percent.  Delaware County reported 14 new cases yesterday, with no new deaths and a 4.1 percent seven-day positive rate.

Delaware County has a Blue Level COVID Spread rating of 0.5.  A total of 39 counties have a Blue Level zero or zero-point-five COVID spread ratings — the lowest rating on the three-point scale. 49 counties are up one notch to a Yellow Level 1.0 or 1.5 rating; four counties remain at an Orange Level 2.0 or 2.5 rating.  A Red Level 3 rating indicates the worst for COVID spread.

There is some good news on the COVID front.  IDOH’s COVID vaccination dashboard Thursday showed 50 percent of eligible Hoosiers aged 12 and above are now fully vaccinated.
