Move over Kentucky and Tennessee, Indiana is about to enter the Rye Whiskey market. Hard Truth Hills is officially unveiling its “Indiana Rye Whiskey” at a special event Saturday morning at its Nashville Distillery.

During the ceremony, state representative Chris May of Bedford will sign into law an official designation for Indiana Rye Whiskey.  Hard Truth Co-owner Tim O’Bryan says to meet those standards a whiskey must be aged in barrels for two years, be manufactured in Indiana and distilled to no more than 80 percent alcohol by volume:  “We’re excited about the whiskey but we’re even more excited about the designation we think it can really do great things for the state and for craft distilling here in Indiana.”

May’s bill allows distillers throughout the state to market Indiana made Rye Whiskey all over the country.
