Mike Neu’s Ball State Football Cardinals trampled Western Michigan at Kalamazoo, Saturday, 45 to 20.

After being tied at 17 at the half, the Cards scored 28 second-half points – 21 in the fourth quarter – while holding Western to 3 points.  Ball State scored 28 points off of four Western Michigan turnovers, including a fourth-quarter scoop and score.  Previously this season, the Broncos had turned the ball over only two times.

Ball State was an 11-point underdog, going into Saturday’s contest.  The Cards demonstrated they are now the team that fans had expected this year.  After a lackluster 1-and-3 start to the season, Ball State is now 3-and-3 overall, and 1-and-1 in the MAC.

Quarterback Drew Plitt had his best game of the season, passing for 310 yards and 4 touchdowns and connecting on 15 of 25 passes.

Next up:  Conference play continues with Eastern Michigan, in Ypsilanti, next Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
