Coach Mike Neu’s Ball State Football Cardinals outlasted Eastern Michigan 38 to 31 at Ypsilanti on Saturday.  The Cards have now won three in a row to go 4-and-3 overall and 2-and-1 in the MAC West.

Ball State is in a three-way tie for second in the division with Western Michigan and Central Michigan, behind division leader Northern Illinois.  Next up:  Homecoming, this Saturday at Scheumann Stadium against MAC East Division leader Miami (2-1 MAC East; 3-4 overall).  Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.  You can see the game on ESPN+.

Meanwhile in the NFL, the Indianapolis Colts throat punched Houston, Sunday, at Lucas Oil Stadium 31-to-3.  Quarterback Carson Wentz overcame September ankle issues to toss two touchdowns.  Two more TDs were provided by Jonathan Taylor running in for scores.  The Colts are 2 and 4 on the season.
