The coronavirus’ rapid spread, fueled by the omicron variant, has each and every one of Indiana’s 92 counties in the worst COVID-19 spread rating: a Red Level 3.  State health officials released the new data Wednesday.

The Indiana Department of Health reported 16,502 new positive COVID-19 cases statewide Wednesday.  Another 118 Hoosiers have died from the virus, bringing the state’s pandemic death toll to 19,761.  The state’s seven-day positivity rate is 30 percent.

Delaware County reported 286 new positive cases with a seven-day positivity rate of 23.3 percent.  One new death was recorded, bringing the county’s death toll to 366.

State health officials and the medical community urge all eligible Hoosiers to get vaccinated, to use N95 masks, wash their hands, and socially distance.
