Ball State’s men’s volleyball Cardinals are back in the NCAA championships for the first time in 20 years.

The Cards beat in-state rival Purdue Fort Wayne 3-0, in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association tournament championship game at Worthen Arena, Saturday night in front a crowd believed to be in excess of 3,000 fans.

The Cards will fly west to UCLA’s famed Pauley Pavillion for the NCAA championships. The tournament bracket was announced Sunday. Ball State is the 2nd seed. As such, they have a bye into the semi-finals.

The Cards will face either Princeton, North Greenville, or a possible rematch against Hawai’i a week from Thursday at 10:30 pm ET.
