Ball State University meteorologist Dr. Dave Call says winter storm “Fern” was a “gigantic” weather maker that stretched some 2,000 miles from New Mexico to Maine.  He said Muncie received 9.5 inches of snow from the storm and that total may be the largest in Muncie since 2014.
