S11 E11: Homegrown – Olde 303 Music Festival

Listen to the next installment of our Homegrown series, where we exclusively feature music from either a specific venue or music festival. This week, we’ll be hearing music from the Olde 303 Music Festival.

The Olde 303 Music Festival was THE event of the summer 2019 located in Bluffton, Indiana. It was a family-friendly day jam-packed with music, food and shopping.

What Started out as a 3-piece , electric, rock & roll band is slowly morphing into an Americana and Bluegrass infused Indie-Folk band. Adam Baker and The Heartache  focuses their energy on songwriting, thick vocal harmonies and putting on the best show that they can.  They are based in Fort Wayne, IN.

Complete with snakeskin boots and the feather in the hat, the Nick Harless Band brings blues to a whole new level. They have played all over the midwest, spreading their music to every bar, festival, theater, and arena that invites them in. With a show that wows, songs that rock, and looks to kill, the band always brings their A-game, wherever they go, seeking to achieve national presence as a trio that never fails to impress.

About The Scene

The Scene is a weekly public radio show produced in Indiana that features music in performance from around the great Hoosier state. Each week, we bring listeners an hour of live music performed in local venues catered by a team of human beings who simply love music.

Our goal is to promote the Indiana music scene by focusing on the music itself. We want to tell the story of the music happening in our own backyards, to be a spark of conversation between fellow music-lovers, and to give listeners a bit of context about new and upcoming artists, sometimes through interviews with the musicians themselves.

The Scene is produced at Indiana Public Radio in collaboration with Ball State's Music & Media Production department and is made possible in part by listeners (just like you!) and the Vice President for Information Technology at Ball State.
