In 2002, Muncie’s AWAKEN organization was founded with the goal of providing educational opportunities, vocational training, and healthcare to women and children in Afghanistan. Bibi Bahrami, president and founder of AWAKEN, and Joann McKinney, president of the Refugee Alliance of Delaware County join President Mearns to discuss how our community is now helping refugees make Muncie their new home.
