State park entrance fees going up
The cost to enter and camp at Indiana state parks and forests is going up this year. The state Department of Natural Resources says park fees pay for 70 percent of park operating costs, which have been rising since 2006 when most fees were last adjusted.
An in-state car entering most parks will now cost $7 – a $2 increase. Out-of-state cars will be charged $9. The price of annual passes, camping sites, rooms at state park inns, and motorized boat launch permits will also be going up. The cost increases begin May 13 at all state parks and the three state forests with entrance gates.
