Muncie to see Friday early morning planned power outage

By Stephanie Wiechmann | Published on in Uncategorized

A planned early morning power outage in parts of Muncie might affect your Friday morning alarm clock or early drive to work.

Indiana Michigan Power will turn off power to about 1,500 customers at 5:00 AM tomorrow morning. Spokesman Tracy Warner says the outage is only scheduled to last about five minutes. Crews need time to repair the substation on Tillotson Avenue after a squirrel caused damage last week that cut power to about 4,000 people and stoplights along Tillotson and some downtown locations.

Warner says the Friday morning outage will run west and north of the Ball State University campus and a few sites in downtown Muncie. He says Indiana Michigan Power is calling all those customers whose power will be interrupted.
