Larry is taking a short break this month, so we are excited to bring you an encore of our annual Swing Band Cavalcade from 2021. It’s two hours of the bands and vocalists who made the Swing Era the most popular period of American jazz. Tune in for artists you haven’t heard in a minute, or maybe ones you’ve never heard at all!

That’s this Saturday, February 24, at 8pm, only on Indiana Public Radio.

BlueNotes is IPR’s monthly jazz program produced exclusively for Indiana Public Radio listeners. Each program features a blend of classic and contemporary jazz spanning the spectrum of jazz types and formats. Historical recordings are often included.

In addition, BlueNotes covers jazz venues in central Indiana with news of upcoming jazz shows and concerts. Interviews with local jazz musicians are also featured.

The September 2016 BlueNotes "Indiana Bicentennial Salute to Hoosier Jazz" program received a Bicentennial Legacy Project Endorsement from the Indiana Bicentennial Commission for its contributions to the celebration of Indiana history and commemoration of Indiana’s 200th birthday.
