In Delaware County, Stephen Brand has won the election for a county commissioner seat.  IPR’s Ransom True reports.

The night was electric for Republicans in Delaware County, with wins up and down the ballot. Brand, having already beaten incumbent commissioner James King in the Republican primary, felt the power of his campaign came from its approach.

“I structured an organization just like I would structure a business organization, and that’s the same thing I’d like to do in the county.”

Brand hopes his campaign can serve as a model in Delaware County.

“We ran a professional race, a race with dignity and respect and classy. We didn’t get drug into the mud and I really hope our campaign is a model for how elections should be run in the future.”

Brand will take office in January.
