Elwood native to head state Department of Homeland Security

By Stephanie Wiechmann | Published on in Uncategorized

Indiana Governor Mike Pence has named an Elwood native to head the state’s Department of Homeland Security. David Kane has a background in federal transportation security. He served as a federal air marshal for 17 years, and then stepped into leadership roles overseeing transportation policy with the US Department of Homeland Security. In 2012, he helped his home state host the Super Bowl as Federal Coordinating Official. Kane is a graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield. He will begin his new duties in late November.
