(BLOOMINGTON)- Bloomington Police say investigating whether the man arrested for the alleged murder of IU student Hannah Wilson has ties to another missing coed Lauren Spierer. In a statement released to the media, Bloomington Police Captain Joe Qualters says the arrest of Daniel Messel has quote, “provided BPD detectives with an avenue of investigation into Lauren Spierer‘s disappearance that will be diligently pursued.” Qualters adds their probe has already begun and they‘re working with Indiana State Police to determine what, if any similarities exist between the Wilson and Spierer cases. No word on how long it may take. Wilson had last been seen outside the same Bloomington bar as Spierer when she vanished back in June 2011.
