88 Candidates Vying For Seat On BSU-Appointed MCS Board
88 candidates have submitted their names to Ball State University to become university appointed members of the Muncie Community Schools board.
The Star Press reports a large majority of the applicants live in Muncie. A few are from the Indianapolis area. Parents, attorneys, a former Muncie mayor, and clergy members are among those who have put their hats in the ring.
Ball State trustees will appoint five board members nominated by university President Geoffrey Mearns.
Mearns will appoint two other board members from lists gathered by Muncie Mayor Dennis Tyler, and the Muncie City Council.
