Public Comment Period on New Vectren Natural Gas Plant Ends Friday
People have until Friday (Aug. 3) to comment on Vectren’s plans to build a new natural gas plant near Evansville. The roughly 780 million dollar facility would replace the company’s three retiring coal plants. Vectren’s proposal to the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission has been controversial. While the company says the new plant would give Vectren customers a variety of energy sources, critics say Vectren is only building the plant to add value to the company before it merges with CenterPoint Energy. The company has refuted those claims.
