Indiana in need of RH negative blood
The Indiana Blood Center says it’s in critical need of all RH negative blood types. Director of Marketing Wendy Maringer says all 67 Hoosier hospitals are seeing an increase in patients needing blood, and all are running low on supplies. The Center currently cannot fill hospital requests for 81 units of O-Negative blood. Maringer says the Center needs five hundred and fifty donors a day to keep an adequate blood supply in Indiana.
Though hospitals are in need of RH negative blood types, Maringer says many people don’t know their blood type. She hopes all donors will visit one of the nine blood centers in the state.
