Man struck by train in Anderson
Anderson police today are investigating the death of a man apparently struck and killed by a train. At just after 5 A-M this morning, police say an engineer of a Union Pacific train saw someone lying on the train tracks who didn’t respond to the blast of the train’s whistle. Department spokesman Mitch Carroll said the man appears to have been struck by the train. Carroll says the victim has been identified, but his identity is not being released until his family is notified. The Union Pacific train was stopped for about three and a half hours. Police say they are now trying to figure out why the man was on the train tracks.
