Welliver’s reopens as Willie & Red’s on Thanksgiving day

Published on in Uncategorized

A famous Hagerstown restaurant will reopen on Thanksgiving with a new name and new owners.  The former Welliver’s Smorgasbord has been closed for nine months.  The renovated space will reopen as Willie & Red’s.  Owners Mike and Penny Wickes tell Richmond’s Palladium-Item they had hoped for a mid-October reopening, but the renovation took longer than expected.  Penny Wickes says the menu for Willie & Red’s includes several Welliver’s favorites – including a local favorite, chicken livers.  The restaurant’s Facebook page says they will open at noon on Thursday.  Willie & Red’s will serve dinner throughout the weekend, with lunch and dinner hours on Sunday.
