Autopsy confirms Muncie body is that of missing woman
An autopsy at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital has confirmed that the body found Wednesday in Muncie is that of a missing Muncie woman. 40-year-old Kimberly Nelson was last seen the morning of August 1st. Her car was later found about a mile from where her body was discovered – in a wooded area between the Cardinal Greenway and Granville Avenue. Her badly decomposed body was found by Ag Best employees. Delaware County Coroner Scott Hahn says the autopsy found Nelson died from asphyxiation due to hanging. He has ruled her death a suicide. Hahn had earlier refused to speculate whether the body was Nelson’s. But this evening, he tells the Muncie Star Press that some of Nelson’s personal effects were also found in the woods.
